What documentation do I need to dive?

In Spanish territory it is mandatory to present:

  • A diving qualification
  • A medical certificate or complete a medical questionnaire ( SPANISH – FRENCH – ENGLISH )
  • A diving insurance

Diving insurance can be purchased at the center:

  • Daily 8 €
  • Weekly 20 €
  • Monthly 30 €
  • Annual 60 €

How do I carry diving equipment?

Whether you have your own equipment or rented it, we will give you a numbered box to store it and load it onto our trucks in front of the centre. We will transport it to the port, where you will collect it together with the tank to set up your equipment on board. Inside the boat you will find the weights and belts.

I don’t have diving equipment. Can I rent it at the centre?

At the centre you can rent the complete equipment (20€) or individually (8€):

  • Regulator – BCD
  • 7mm neoprene suit
  • Fins and booties
  • Mask
  • LED spotlight
  • Dive computer
  • Compass

Where can I change my clothes?

Our boat is large and spacious and allows you to change before and after each dive comfortably. There are shelves on the boat to keep your belongings dry (spare clothes, towel, etc.). If you prefer, you can change in front of the centre and take your gear to the port.

Do I need to hire a diving guide service?

Regulations require that a beginner diver must be accompanied by a certified guide to dive within the Cap de Creus nature reserve. If you do not feel confident or are unfamiliar with the diving spots, we recommend hiring a monitor service for safety and so that you can enjoy your dive to the fullest.

What are diving tanks like?

We have 12 and 15L steel bottles available with double taps with DIN or INT outlet, as well as 7 and 10L bottles for the little ones. We also have Nitrox bottles (12 or 15L) with prior reservation.

At what age can you start diving?

Diving regulations in Spain establish a minimum age for diving. The minimum age for recreational and sports diving is 8 years with the following depth limitations:

  • From 8 to 9 years: depth limit 6 meters
  • From 10 to 11 years: depth limit 12 meters
  • From 12 to 15 years: depth limit 21 meters
  • From 16 to 18 years: depth limit 40 meters

Introductory courses and the first level of diving (Open Water Diver course) are accessible from 10 years old.

Is it difficult to dive?

No, diving is easy and fun. The evolution of equipment and teaching systems makes diving increasingly accessible to everyone.

Can I dive if I can’t swim?

To do a baptism it is not necessary to know how to swim since you move with fins, however, since diving is an aquatic activity, more training in this medium is an advantage. To pass the first level of diving it is necessary to swim 200 meters and float for 10 minutes.

Can my partner stay on the boat while I dive?

Yes, as long as we have space on the boat, family or friends can accompany you during your dive, this entails an additional charge of 15€ per person.

How long does a dive last?

The maximum diving time ranges from 50 to 60 minutes provided that the diver returns to the boat with at least 50 bar in the tank.
